TOUR ANNOUNCEMENTS: Our thoughts and prayers for the victims of the recent tragedies. Castles of the World is deeply saddened by the recent tragic events, and we offer our thoughts and prayers to the victims and heroes of these senseless attacks. We decided to cancel our September newsletter as a sign of respect to the victims. Understandably, after September, 11 the interest for our trips decreases dramatically. We are now back again to our usual traffic levels on our web site, in fact October 2001 promises to be our best month ever. The interest in our tours has never been stronger. We are confident we will sell out all of our tours for the 2002 season. FEATURE STORY: Haunted Castles and Hotels Castles of the World has launched a new website,
http://www.Haunted-Castles-and-Hotels.com
in it, you will come face to face with places known for the haunted legends that have been part of their history. We are promoting our Best Castles of England and Ireland tour where travelers will visit famous haunted castles. Most castles can only be visited in daylight hours or through special permission of the owners. However, some have been converted into hotels or have at least some rooms visitors can stay in. So come on, take the trip of a lifetime and visit the ten spooky haunted castles listed below. The trip includes a stay at two castle hotels where, according to the owner or other guests, ghosts are still roaming the halls! Haunted Castles on TV During July we sent a special edition of our newsletter requesting for a volunteer couple to stay at a Haunted castle, for a special TV show from FOX Family Channel. We found a young honeymoon couple who stayed at the haunted castle in Scotland. During the evening of October 23rd, FOX family channel will air this episode. Please make sure to check your local TV guide for the time and channel in your local area. The following paragraph is the description that FOX sent to us. Fourteenth century Balgonie Castle in Fife, Scotland, is a site that is legendary for its history of hauntings. Reports of apparitions and ghostly voices are attributed to its great hall. An infamous "green lady" is said to wander the old wing. Unseen hands have reportedly assailed visitors. When an American couple seeking a suitable place for their wedding visits Balgonie Castle, they soon learn that what looks like a romantic retreat from the outside is in fact a place of terror. NEWS: Castles Resources Section Improved. We have upgraded our links or directory section. It now includes over 2,500 links to every site that we know of the web that is related to castles.
