We got up at our normal time (5:00) as if we were going to work. We were all packed the night before. Pam took us to
Sky Harbor for an 8:30 flight to New York on Delta. There was a 3 hour layover in
New York and the flight to Paris took over 7 hours; therefore, we left Phoenix at
8:30 A.M. and got to Paris at 8:00 A.M. the next morning.

DAY TWO
After getting our luggage and buying 1200 French Francs, a Globus Rep. put us on a
taxi to get to the hotel. The first people we met on the tour were a couple from
Allentown, Pa. (Rick and Pam). She saw our Globus bags when we got off the plane and when Pam saw me with our
luggage in the airport she ask me where we got our luggage. They got to the hotel
the same time we did and we rode the Metro together on our way to an afternoon of sightseeing in Paris, France. We got off
at the Notre Dame station and they stayed on until the Louvre station. WE didn't see
them again until the next morning at breakfast in the hotel. After finding Notre Dame on the Seine
River with the help of an unlost policeman and using a tiny pay toilet on a Paris
sidewalk, we started on a Narrated City Bus Tour. It took us all over the old part of
Paris where we saw squares, palaces, museums, an opera house, the Arc de
Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Art Museum. We rode the Metro, or the Paris subway, back to hotel to meet our
tour group and have a welcome drink. We all rode our tour bus to an area of
Paris where the Moulin Rouge Nightclub is and caught a tram which took up a hill
to a restaurant district. We had dinner at Auberge de la Bonne Franquette, a place
with live music and a lot of group singing. We had a very good 4 course meal with
plenty of wine. We took a funicular back down the hill to the bus and got another
narrated city tour on our bus with our guide and at night. The places looked familiar but a lot different with all the
lights. We finally got to bed about 12:00. Because of a 9 hour time zone difference,
we got about 1 or 2 hours sleep on the plane in our bodies last 35 hours. We spent the first night (after the second day)
in Paris.
