Castles of the World

HomeCastle Tours 2000Press Information

The third and fourth places were in Amboise. There was the impressive fortress﷓castle, royal residence of Charles VIII and burial place of Leonardo da Vinci. It towered over the small town of Amboise and overlooked the Loire River. This was the first place we saw that looked like a castle Then we hiked up a hill through narrow residential streets past houses built into the side of the cliff, a small chateau named Clos Luce. Leonardo da Vinci lived here for a few years before his death in 1519. There was an extensive collection of models of his various inventions on display. Dinner was not included tonight, so we ate with Pam and Rick from Pa. at "Buffalo Grill". I had a buffalo steak and Dears had ribs.
