This was our longest driving day, 362 mi. First stop was a
pee stop at the ruins of a castle in Caen, France. Next we visited Rouen, the city famous for Joan
D'Arc. We toured the Cathedral Notre Dame de Rouen, which contains St. Joan
d'Arc's Chapel and saw a modern church building which was the Joan d'Arc Memorial.
After lunch ire drove on to Brussels, Belgium. On the way, we stopped at a rest stop on the highway. The women's
room toilet consisted of a hole in the floor with two raised areas for your feet. One woman from Texas decided she
would rather go over behind the bushes than use the indoor toilet. After dinner in a very nice hotel in downtown Brussels,
we went on a walking tour of the Old Town District. On the way to the Guild Plaza, we passed a statue of Manaken Pis
(Little Pee Boy). 'here was a light show in the plaza with music and colored lights on the buildings. We did some
shopping here then got lost a little on the way back to the hotel. |
