Nowhere in the world will you find so many castles and vineyards. The Rhine River in their midst creates a landscape that epitomizes "romance."

Sightseeing here focuses on the red-walled CASTLE where the GREAT VAT, a 49,000-gallon 18th-century wine cask, attracts particular attention. Free time in the town to buy souvenirs or to wander along the Neckar River. A short drive will bring you back to St. Goar for a leisurely afternoon followed by a farewell dinner to celebrate the success of a fascinating week in the Rhine Valley. (FB,D)

Day 7 (Sat.) Your homebound flight arrives the same day. (FB)

The Rheinfels Castle Fortress

Your home in the Rhine Valley is the medieval Rheinfels Castle & Villa, built like a fortress and dominating the picturesque town of St. Goar. From the terrace you can enjoy unforgettable views of the Rhine River. While enjoying the heart of the Lorelei Valley and the comfort and service of this hotel, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Explore the original wine cellar or wander through the surrounding vineyards. Amenities include a wellness center and swimming pool.
